HSBC loses senior executive

(19 May 2006 – UK) HSBC co-head of the corporate, investment banking and markets division (CIBM), John Studzinski, has left the bank to join US company Blackstone. He will remain at HSBC until the end of September but has been replaced in the role by Stuart Gulliver.

HSBC said CIBM remained a central plank of the bank’s growth strategy and Studzinski had played a major role in re-engineering the business.

Blackstone is a US buy out group.
